| Lippincott Williams & Williams recently announced a new venture with Le Med, Inc., publisher of Legal Med Ware, the word processing software designed for easier medical litigation reporting. The acquisition of the Legal Med Ware product will result in the launch of the enhanced version of Legal Med Ware, a new and improved product that will include Stedman’s medical references and bring a deeper level of medical language expertise and enhanced functionality to the software.
Legal Med Ware is a word processing application that facilitates the production of medical litigation reports with instant access to medical terms, diseases with definitions, drugs, lab values, abbreviations, and ICD 9 codes needed by lawyers, legal nurse consultants, medical/insurance claims adjusters, and related professionals preparing medical litigation reports.
“There’s really no other product like this on the market, and Stedman’s is simply going to take a good product and make it great,” explains Patricia Pissanos, LeMed Inc.
After years of frustration, wading through medical records and documents to record information for insurance claims, workers compensation claims, and malpractice cases, Patricia Pissanos, a medical records analyst, developed the initial Legal Med Ware product.
Recently, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins acquired the Legal Med Ware program and are planning to significantly revamp and improve the software. The new Legal Med Ware will include Stedman’s authoritative content and vast medical word reference capabilities, and will give users new productivity features including custom templates.
“The Stedman’s name brings a lot of value to the table, including an unmatched history of medical reference expertise, high quality technical support, and easy-to-follow user documentation,” explains Julie Stegman, Publisher of STEDMAN’S. “We’re also taking a ground-up approach in developing the new version to be sure all the needs of the legal medical market are met in one easy package.”
Legal Med Ware is scheduled to launch in early 2005. For more information on Legal Med Ware and other Stedman’s resources, visit www.stedmans.com.
