Specimen:  serum
Comments:  adding anti-myelin basic protein antibody testing to the usual diagnostic testing strategy significantly improves the sensitivity and specificity of these tests for multiple sclerosis

Synonyms:  none
Indications:  diagnosis and monitoring of patients with gestational diabetes mellitus
Method:  constant monitoring of glucose levels using the Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System (MiniMed)
Normal Findings:  the mean time of undetected hyperglycemia for a total group monitoring time of 30 days was 78 +/- 13 min/day
Comments:  continuous monitoring provides better patient care than the usual finger-stick method of glucose testing
